Human Movement 101, Learn how to be in your body. Increase awareness & understanding to help you prevent injury and move easefully & joyfully in daily living. Learn the foundations of breathing, sitting, reaching, standing, bending, walking, & climbing, which are the foundations for safe movement, exercise, injury prevention, and a joyful embodied experience. Great for everyone from athletes to pro desk sitters, young & older, beginners & advanced. (Note: this is an ongoing class in 4-8 week sessions. Drop-in pricing is available at the desk for $20.)

LABAN FOR DANCERS

THE RESOURCE DANCE COMPANY OPEN CLASS, The first 1.5 hours is a warm-up that is Laban for dancers. Then the class is centered around repertoire, movement exploration, improvisation, choreographic prompts & rehearsal. The company’s style is post-modern with a ballet influence; all movement styles are welcome. Performance opportunities will be extended by audition & invitation. MOVEMENT FOR ACTORS, Study all aspects of human movement. Become embodied, gain a detailed vocabulary for movement, & tools for clear choice-making for your character & performance. Clear & concise feedback and on-the-spot coaching from the instructor, who is a Certified Movement Analyst and passionate about creating space for actors to progress through the creative process. This course empowers actors to experience the joy of exploration and the reward of pinning down their choices.

Ballet, A Tool FOR Health

 

Floor Barre and Center, Floor Barre from Tricia Kaye and Alexandra Baldina. A ballet class centered around listening to one’s body. The Floor Barre is intended to gently teach you the secrets of your body rather than force you into harsh experiences. Your life, health, and body are respected. The Floor exercises create space in the hips and length in the spine, elongating your body and movement, which greatly enhances daily living as well as movement performance. I teach all ages and levels simultaneously as we can all learn together and from one another.
