Ballet, A Tool for Health
Floor Barre For Everyone A set series of exercises and stretches designed for dancers but applicable to all bodies. The series is performed lying down on the floor–hence the name “Floor Barre”--to minimize the effects of gravity on the body. The series is an excellent tool for every body’s health because it is designed to:
Lengthen the spine (decompression)
Create space in the hips (decompression)
Create space for the organs (healthy digestion & performance)
Safely stretch tight muscle groups (especially hamstrings)
Teach proper rotation and alignment of limbs
Breakdown weight shift, limb rotation, breath, eye tracking, and more
Lengthen the femur head out of the hip socket for healthy hips
Be gentle for gradual changes rather than forcing the body into harsh positions
Increase awareness of your body
Be gentle enough for any body at any age
This series can be used as a foundation for healthy movement and can be done daily in as little as 10 minutes, or more slowly over 45 minutes. It is my hope to pass it on to you as a tool in your daily life.
The Floor Barre is centered around listening to one’s body and is intended to gently teach you the secrets of your body rather than force you into harsh experiences. Your life, health, and body are respected. I teach all ages and levels simultaneously as we can all learn together and from one another.

Breath
Breath: How to Breathe Fully; This 8-week course is designed to help you explore the full capacity of your breath, understand its profound influence on your overall well-being, and learn techniques to breathe with greater ease. Each week will build upon the last, guiding you toward a more complete and beneficial breathing practice. Class time includes lecture, resources, handouts, visual aids, at least 30 minutes of breath practice, feedback, and several breath techniques.

MOVEMENT FOR ACTORS, Study all aspects of human movement. Become embodied, gain a detailed vocabulary for movement, & tools for clear choice-making for your character & performance. Clear & concise feedback and on-the-spot coaching from the instructor, who is a Certified Movement Analyst and passionate about creating space for actors to progress through the creative process. This course empowers actors to experience the joy of exploration and the reward of pinning down their choices.

THE RESOURCE COMPANY CLASS, A post-modern dance class that uses Laban/Bartenieff Movement Analysis (LBMA) as a lens for moving. The class begins with warm up, continues with center, across the floor and combinations while exploring applications of LBMA to dance.
